Kid's
Ministry

“Permit the children to come to Me; do not hinder them; for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.” Mark 10:14

Here at Gateway Community Church we believe in teaching our children about God’s great love for them, and building them up in their faith and understanding by developing a solid foundation based on God’s Word.

We have Sunday school classes for children aged 3-12, which they attend during the Sunday service. We offer a Nursery area for babies and toddlers.

On Sunday nights we host an AWANA program for children in our church, and the Hinton community.

All of our volunteers are trained and certified in Plan to Protect protocols.

We provide activity boxes, and worksheets to keep young ones busy on days when there are no Sunday School lessons, so that children continue to learn God’s Word.

AWANA
Because Kids Matter to God

AWANA clubs have been growing children in their Christian faith all across Canada for generations. As part of the National AWANA Clubs organization, our club has been teaching children about God is for the past 14 years.

Every Sunday night, from 6:00-7:30 children from all over Hinton come to play games, and learn more about God. Children, Kindergarten to Grade 6 practice memorizing verses, earning badges, winning prizes and celebrating their achievements, as they grow in their knowledge of the Bible.

All of our volunteers are certified in Plan to Protect training.

Our AWANA program will resume in September.

Youth

Friends, food, and some good clean fun on a Friday night! Yes please! Youth love to hang out, and we love to give them a place to do that. We meet Friday nights at 7PM.

Our Youth Group is open to all teens in Grades 7-12. We play a variety of group games and activities, share snacks (because we know teens LOVE to eat) and learn more about God. We invite teens to a deeper understanding of who God is, how much He loves them, and encourage them to build their life on a solid foundation of faith.

We have currently joined our Youth Group with the Alliance Church.

20's & 30's

It can be difficult to meet other like-minded young adults who are trying to live out their Christian faith. At GCC we host a 20’s & 30’s night every Thursday at 6PM. We often share a meal, and then do a Bible Study together. We encourage each other to have a closer walk with Jesus, as we face the many challenges of our generation, and support each other in our Christian life.

Share Shop

GCC has a committed group of volunteers that serve in our local thrift store, 4 days per month. The Share Shop is a valuable resource in our community, providing much needed donated second- hand items at a low cost to people and families who need them. It keeps usable items out of the landfill, so it’s a win for the environment, as well.

Volunteer groups receive a portion of the funds from all the sales throughout the year, and at GCC we put what we receive back into supporting missions and charity, both abroad and in our community. It’s a mission that keeps on giving, and for us it’s a blessing to be a part of it. Please contact us if you are interested in joining us as a volunteer.

Senior's Lodge Services

Every fifth week we have the opportunity to lead a short church service at both Pine Valley Lodge and the Hinton Continuing Care Centre and we are always looking for more ways to minister to the seniors of our community.  Please contact our office for more information on how to get involved.
