Our Ministry Team:
Daniel Peters
Senior Pastor pastordaniel@gcchinton.faith
Daniel began his ministry with us in November, 2019, after previously serving the Lord in Belgium, Whitehorse, YT, and Brooks, AB. His passion for the lost and that people would discover the abundant life in Christ that comes from being a fully committed follower of Jesus is evident in his life and ministry.
Daniel and Karen have been married since September, 1990, and have 3 grown children, 2 sons-in-law, 5 grandchildren.
In his spare time Daniel loves road trips to watch hockey, reading, and seeing new places.

Ben Giesbrecht
Elder
Ben Giesbrecht grew up on a farm in northern BC with his parents and three younger siblings. Ben's parents led him to Christ at an early age and modeled servanthood among a body of believers with active involvement as a family in the local community church. Enrollment in the Geomatics Engineering program at the University of Calgary took Ben far from the community he grew up with after high school, but he quickly became involved with the Intervarsity Christian Fellowship (IVCF) club on campus, growing in his walk with the Lord and serving in various capacities including leading worship and small groups, camp ministries as a leader of teenage boys and camp boys on the leadership track, co-president of the U of C IVCF chapter, and director of a winter camp for IVCF University students. God brought Jacinda into Ben's life in the last semester before graduation and they were married in 2007, working together in the field for a few years as a land surveying team before moving to Hinton in 2009 to start their own land surveying company and see what God had in store there. It turns out part of that plan was four lovely children and deepening involvement in the church family of Gateway Community Church. Over the years, Ben has served at Gateway as a small group leader, worship leader, church Elder, and leader of children and youth ministries.
